The Secret Life of Bees

I feel like all I have written about lately are movie reviews but to be honest, there has not been much going on around here. The highlight of our weekend was the movies we rented, one of them being "The Secret Life of Bees." This was my choice, of course! It was an awesome movie! I first heard about it on Oprah (go figure, right?!) It was a book featured on Oprah's book club. I never got around to reading it but right before the movie was released in theaters, the cast was on the Oprah show.

Its the story of a young girl Lilly played by Dakota Fanning, who is trying to find out about her mother, who died when she was only four years old. It takes place in the Civil Rights era so of course race is a major part of the movie. Her journey brings her to a bee farm run by three sisters August, June, & May.

There is obviously more to the story but I don't want to ruin it! It is definetly a must see! I only wish I had read the book before seeing the movie. I would like to informally add a goal for February. I want to read more. I have so many books that I buy with every intention of reading but some how I can never find the time to read them! How is that possible! I find time all sorts of unimportant things. So I will start small... I want to read one book by the end of February!
