Mariners vs Braves

I have been meaning to blog about the baseball game we saw while we were in Atlanta, GA but it has been a long week. Brandon has been a big Mariners fan for a long time so it was a nice treat to go to Atlanta to see his favorite team since we might not make it out to Seattle anytime soon.
We had really good seats. We were sitting between home plate and the Mariners dugout about 12 rows up. Before the game we were able to watch the mariners batting practice and we got to stand right by the field. It was pretty cool to see the action up close. Brandon got autographs from some of his favorite players like this guy,Yuniesky Betancourt. He plays in the infield.
Below is Raul Ibanez, he plays in the outfield. They were nice enough to come over and sign Brandons hat. There were a few of the players that were buttheads! There these two little boys standing next to us and when they would shout out their names to get their attention to come over and sign autographs they would just look the other way when it was way obvious that they could hear us! I couldn't believe that! These athletes are looked up to by these kids and they get paid millions to play and they couldn't give their fans an autograph or even a wave!
So we were pleased when we got some nice players to come over and sign some stuff and get pictures. All in all it was so fun! Brandon was rooting for the Mariners and I was rooting for the Braves. In the end Braves came back in the 8th inning to win the game 5-4.
Go Braves!

Downtown Atlanta

After we checked into our hotel and relaxed for a little bit we decided to go explore downtown Atlanta. So we got in the car and just drove up the street and discovered that there was ALOT of cool stuff about 5 minutes up the road from our hotel.
Our first stop was the CNN Studios! I was really excited! It was just kinda cool to visit. I actually watch the news quite a bit, and I was hoping I would see Nancy Grace... I love her! She is so blunt! They had a tour that you could take but the line was seriously like 2 hours long and we just didn't have the time or patience to stand in the line.
There is this relly great park called Olympic Park. I am not sure how many people remember but the summer olympics were held in Atlanta I think in 1998 (around there) so there are SO MANY olympic landmarks in Atlanta. These fountains are in the shape in the olympic rings. Kinda cool huh?
We also went to Coca-Cola World. That was ok... we just looked around in their gift shop because the line to get in was outrageous!Plus we both have been to coca cola world in Vegas so it was no big deal.
Lastly we went to Turner field to watch the Seattle Mariners play the Braves. The Mariners are Brandons favorite team and the odds of us going to Seattle to see a game is slim. He was so excited to see his team play and I am glad we went. :)

Zoo Atlanta

We decided to take a small road trip to Atlanta, Ga. Brandon was able to get a few days off work and we decided to get out of boring Knoxville and actually do something. Our morning started at 6:30 am and we were on the road by 7am. Its about a 3 1/2 hour drive so we were there by 10:30 am. We went straight to Zoo Atlanta as soon as we got there. It was so fun. I forgot how much I love animals!
I think these boars were either flirting or fighting! I am going to go with flirting because I don't remember them being angry. It's always nice to watch animals act naturally.
This is one of my favorite pictures! There were two gorillas and they were splashing in the water. It was so cute!
These are two of my favorite animals! I just love the patterns! Its so intricate and unique!
By the end of the day this is how we were feeling! We just wanted to kick back and relax in the sun. I have never seen a kangaroo so up close and they are weird looking. Just their bone structure and their back legs.
Well after we finished up at the zoo we decided to go looking for our hotel. It was a nightmare! We were relying only on the mapquest directions we had printed out. But mapquest does not take into consideration road construction! All ramps to the interstate were closed so we had to take surface streets and downtown Atlanta is nothing but one-way streets. So you can only imagine! Luckily we were able to find it ok and laugh about the fact that we were driving around in circles!

Bluebird Eggs

I learned something new the other day and I wanted to share my new found knowledge. Bluebird eggs are actually blue! Brandon's parents have bird feeders and birds nests in their backyard. We found 8 eggs in this one nest! I think these eggs have since hatched and the birds flown away, but they recently layed more eggs so I will try to take pictures of the baby birds next time. So Cute!

New Tattoo

Brandon recently got a new tattoo. If you can't tell it is the seams of a baseball. baseball is his favorite sport and he has played his whole life so thats the story behind the new tattoo.
I still have a tattoo count of ZERO! They are just way too permanent for me and to be honest I am not a fan of pain! According to Brandon this one didn't hurt, but I guess I will never know from personal experience. I will just have to take his word for it. :)

Giddy Up

This weekend was very eventful! Some friends of ours (John and Alicia) recently got some horses and they invited us over to ride Dandy and Midnight. Brandon arranged this for me because "ride a horse" is on my life list. So I am so excited to finally cross one more thing off my list.
This is me on Dandy. As you might tell, I was a little nevous. Horses are BIG creatures up close so it was a little intimidating but overall I did ok. John (thats his arm in the picture) held on the reign the whole time because I wasn't confident enough to do it alone. I felt a little silly cause I felt like I was on a pony ride, but eventually I will be able to do it alone. :) thats the goal.
Brandon was more of a natural at it than myself. He did a great job and was able to ride around by himself. Dandy was real calm and easy to ride. Apparently Midnight is a bit harder to control. This whole experiance makes me want a horse but then i remebered, I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT OWNING A HORSE. Duh! They have so much land behind their house and the horses are just in their back yard! I can do the "country lifestyle" in spurts. I love that you can live out in the middle of nowhere where you can have horses in your backyard and not hear traffic, but I also love convenience of having a Wal-Mart or McDonald's down the street. Eventually when we buy a home we will have to find a nice medium.
I don't think I have ever been this close to a horse. I like this picture... All in all a wonderful weekend!

Countdown to VEGAS

I no longer have an excuse

So we got a laptop this weekend so I no longer have an excuse not to blog! I hope to be keeping up with the blogging alot more. the only thing I am missing is some excited things to blog about. I seriously lead a very boring life...Its kind of sad. :( It should be getting alot more exciting (I hope) Lately Brandon has been working 7 days a week so even on the weekends we don't do much of anything because he has to go to work but he is supposed to be getting weekends off now so hopefully we will be getting out alot more. Although we are still talking about Tenessee hear and lets face...this is not the most exciting place so we will have to get creative! Maybe I will have to get in touch with my outdoorsy side. That might be fun!
