Andrea the Legal Assistant....

Well I have been at my job now for a week and I am happy to report that I really like it! The first few days were kind of a drag cause I had to do alot of busy work like filing and that kind of boring stuff but the last few days have been really good. I got my login setup and I have my own company email! I was really excited about that! I know I am a dork.... So I have been doing alot more things that have to do with my actual job now and I was really excited to be learning new things. And I am proud to say I havn't messed anything up ! So far so good....

LUCKY DAY!

So not only did I get the wonderful news that I got a job but there is more! They had a drawing at Brandons work today and he won a 32" LCD HDTV! How awesome is that! I don't think we have ever won anything that massive. Its amazing. The funny thing is that we are actually saving for one so I guess now we can start saving for something else!
We are having a lucky day! We just might go get some lottery tickets and try our luck!

I GOT A JOB!

YEAH! The wait has ended! I finally got offered a job and I start tomorrow morning at 9 am! The job is as a legal assistant... kinda random I know. Its with a company that specializes in bankruptcy. They will be teaching me everything I need to know because to be completely honest I have no idea what I will be doing. But there is room for growth and eventually I will be trained as a paralegal. Kind of exciting! Well that's it for now!

News on the job front...

I just wanted to let everybody know what has been going on with the job search. Well I have had a good couple of days. Yesterday I applied to a bunch of places for a few hours and I got a call back and went on an interview this morning. At this point I have put advertising jobs on the back burner in the mean time. I have had so much trouble finding a job in my field that I just want to find any job now. Well the job this morning went really well. It was an admin job for a home building company. All good but the down side was it required some traveling to Raleigh, NC. I am not sure that I am prepared to do that.

I am not letting that bring me down though. I have two more appointments within the next two days. So wish me luck and I will post how those interviews go!

Christmas Party!

The christmas party was a blast! I had a lot of fun and most importantly I got to meet alot of new people. Brandon always comes home after work talking about so many people at work and it is nice to finally know who he is talking about. It was tons of fun... We had SO MUCH food! I made salsa, guacamole, and enchiladas and I am happy to report that everyone loved it! I was very proud of myself.
As you can tell there was karaoke involved. I confess...I did get up there and sing but there is no pictures because luckily I was the one with the camera. (darn!) Brandon and I sang "Good Directions" by Billy Currington. And I just have to say I love southern accents! Everyone was talking and I was just in awe. I love 'em!

This is me feeling silly! I don't know what's going on with my face! LOL

Reality TV

So it is no secret ... I have no job! Therefore I have no life so I have been watching ALOT of TV. Keeping up with the Kardashians ( I think that's how its spelled) is one of my new favorite shows. Not because its really good but purely because it is entertaining. There is just something about watching families interact on TV is entertainment to me. Which brings me to my next show.... Jon and Kate plus 8! Again I don't know why I like to watch this but I do. These people have 8 kids.... a set of twins and then a set of sextuplets. Its pure madness! I guess I am just fascinated with how they actually function daily and mange to remain somewhat sane. On a different note I also enjoy the biggest loser... or what I like to call it Big Fat Loser. Brandon and I watch this every week and look forward to it. This show I feel has really helped people change their lives but I find it funny how they play on the fact that everyone is overweight. Everyone has a fridge with their name on it and when they are voted off the fridge is dramatically turned off! Anyway these are only some of the things that have kept me entertained lately.

Getting Ready for Christmas!

Well we are trying to get ready for Christmas so we have been decorating. It has been kind of hectic. Also we are getting ready for a Christmas party on December 15th so I am really excited for that! Since Brandon and his mom work for the same company, they are having their co-workers over for a Christmas party. I am really excited to be meeting new people and making friends! Plus Christmas parties are always fun ... especially when there are games involved! (I am a dork... I know!) That's pretty much all that has been going on around here. The Christmas tree is still a work in progress. And for those of you still wondering .... I still don't have a job!

Job interview follow-up!

So as I wrote before ... I got a second interview with that job I interviewed with. It was an all day shadow like interview. At this point all I know about the job is that it involves customer retention and customer service for AT&T and that it is NOT telemarketing...which is a big selling point for me. Anyhow, I show up at the office and I get paired up with a guy named Mike who is who I will be spending the day with. GREAT! So we got in his car and start driving around. So at this point I am a little nervous because I have absolutely no idea where I am and if anything were to happen with this complete stranger I would be screwed! So we are driving around and he is telling me about the company... blah blah blah. So I thought I heard him say something about appointments with clients. Boy was I wrong!
We pull into an apartment complex.... and start going door to door! For hours! I was so angry because this is totally NOT what I had in mind! To add to it... It was really cold and raining!
So by the end of the day he asked me what I thought about it and I very politely said, "It's just not for me but thanks so much for the learning experience."

Black Friday

Black Friday was a success! Although we didn't do a whole lot of shopping ourselves we still got out to the stores and I am a little surprised to say this but it was fun! There was christmas music playing and it was cold outside... It really felt like the holidays. The picture to the right is of Brandon and I shopping. We got a little crazy and bored and took some fun pictures in the christmas department at Sears!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I hope everyones thanksgiving is going great....
I have to say it's a little bittersweet to me. It has been somewhat of a rough day just because this is the first holiday away from my family :( Although I love Brandon and his family it is just not the same.
Well on a slightly happier note...tomorrow is the first black friday in which I won't be working retail! I am thrilled and a little weirded out at the same time. I am so used to waking up at the crack of dawn and heading off to work and having to deal with crazy, annoying people all day... Well tomorrow I get to be one of those crazy, annoying people! I don't know how long I will actually last in the madness but it will my first time on the other side!

Job Interview Follow up!

So I went to that job interview today... and it went well! I got called for a second interview! That's always a good sign. My second interview is pretty much a full day of work. I will be shadowing someone at the office and they will better explain to me what the job entails. So I will be going in Monday 11-6:30!
I am excited but a bit nervous. I hope I like it and I hope it doesn't turn out to be any form of telemarketing!

So this is Tennessee! I am still really amazed at all the different colors that trees turn!

Anyway, I have job interview tomorrow and I hope it goes well... Part of me wants to get out there and work but another side of me is scared to go out into the world because it is all so new to me.

So far my days have consisted of the typical household chores.... laundry, cooking, cleaning etc... I figure since I don't have a job it's the least I should do. I am also afraid to get this job because this is the first job I have applied for that has to do with my degree! What if I am not good at it! It's just nerves I am sure and it will all be fine once I get in there.... hopfully!

Hey there everyone! I thought this would be a great idea to keep in touch with everyone I love back home. For you all you people that are anti-myspace... this is for you!
Well for starters... TN has been pretty cool so far... I can't complain. It is definetly ALOT different then what I am used to but thats not a bad thing.
I can say that it is so pretty here... There are lots of trees and get this.... THEY ARE GREEN!
Pretty amazing huh? Well actually right now they are beautiful fall colors. It's pretty cool.
